Real Estate Photography - TheSiggins

The importance of quality real estate photos.

Today  people don't rely on an agent to drive them around town looking at houses.  They are finding their new homes by searching via the Internet.  To be successful, you must market the properties to potential buyers online.   These potential buyers are not going to continue looking at any home that has less than stellar pictures. They simply will not spend time looking at your listing without high-quality pictures to catch their eye.  Studies show listings with professional photos sell faster and at a higher price.  A National Association of Realtors survey found that 98% think photos are most useful when buying a home. It is absolutely essential for you to use quality photos to show properties online in an attractive way to be successful.

"The standard for presenting a property to consumers is advancing at an alarming rate. It’s not enough anymore to simply put a sign in the front yard or raw data into the MLS. To compete with even an average listing agent, you have to create a story that compels buyers to take the next step. That story most often begins with a picture."

-  Invest a Little, Make A Lot With Professional Photography

"In an internal case study, IMOTO—a company creating real estate photography for both sellers and REALTORS®—compared 350 listings using their professional photography against 350 similar listings in the same ZIP code. Listings using IMOTO’s professional photography sold 50% faster and 39% closer to the original listing price than similar homes without professional photos. The statistics department at Latter & Blum, a New Orleans-based real estate agency, also found listings using IMOTO’s professional photography were viewed 118% more than comparable listings."

-  Why You Might Need Professional Photos To Sell Your Home

"While curb appeal is your client’s responsibility, web appeal is yours. You have one chance to impress – a scant two seconds to grab a buyer’s attention without a photograph and 20 seconds with one. Do iPhone listing photos or those you take with a point-and-shoot camera make optimum use of those valuable seconds?"

How is my photography different?

I provide professional  Real Estate Photography Services to show your properties in the best possible way.   By using photography skills gained through years of experience and training, I can visually represent your residential and commercial property in a way that catches the buyer’s eye and encourages them to spend more time looking at the property online.

Many  photographers today use a technique called High Dynamic Range or HDR.  If not done properly, these HDR photos can look unnatural and nothing like what the property actually looks like.  I use artificial lights to create a natural pleasing look with little or no editing of a photo.  My photos can better represent a room's qualities than a photo that is over edited.

By using a wide-angle lens a photographer can make a small room appear to be as large as a ballroom.   I feel this is deceptive and will lead to disappointed and unhappy clients.  I set my camera so the photo appears to be what a person sees with their eyes.

Here are some things you won't find in my photography

- Crooked photos.

- Distorted photos where the walls are bowed in or the rooms appear much bigger or smaller - than they are in real life.

- Photos of an exterior that are distorted and make the home appear to be falling away.

- Windows that are too bright to see the view outside.

- Dark shadows that hide the details of a room.

- Photos that are over exposed, under exposed, or have an unusual tint.

I use professional grade cameras, lenses , and  lights to create pleasing interior and exterior photos.  I then use industry leading software to fine tune the photos.  The final product is delivered as electronic files to the client in a fast and professional manner.
